You can see in the screenshot that a 'Block' option will be added inside the chat option in the chat list to block contacts immediately. Currently this facility is not launched. It will be updated in future.

Will be released soon

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp does not plan to block multiple chats at once. That means, going forward, the user can block only one contact at a time. No word on when this feature will be released. But like every time it will be brought in beta version first and after full testing it will be brought to everyone.
